If you’ve come to Mill Davidkov to unwind in beautiful nature, this is a perfect tip. A short drive away lies Jevany, home to a string of atmospheric ponds in a peaceful landscape. From the largest pond, an educational trail begins and leads through a protected reserve of local acid and flowering beech forests with characteristic fauna and flora. On foot, the loop is 8 km and brings you back to where you started. Cyclists will also find plenty of routes to enjoy.

Sion Castle Ruins

The original castle was likely built in the 15th century by the Hussite commander Jan Roháč of Dubá, and its fortifications were among the most sophisticated of the time. Today you’ll find only the remains of walls slowly blending into the landscape. Visitors can explore freely and enjoy a quiet walk in the surrounding forest.

One of the nearest larger towns and well worth a visit. Once a leading royal town thanks to silver mining, Kutná Hora became prominent and attracted many grand buildings. Also worth seeing: the Jesuit College and gardens (home to the Central Bohemian Gallery), Hrádek with the Czech Museum of Silver and medieval mine, and for nature lovers the Educational Trail through the Vrchlice Valley, highlighting local flora, fauna, prehistoric hillforts, geology, and the history of mines and mills.

Chateau Konopiště

A little farther, but absolutely worth it. Konopiště showcases multiple artistic styles and a beautiful park. Once a castle, it still has part of the moat, now home to bears. It is best known as the last residence of Archduke Franz Ferdinand d’Este, heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne. Inside, you’ll find interiors adorned with hunting trophies from his extensive collection. Konopiště has also starred in films such as "Jára Cimrman ležící spící", "Jak se budí princezny", and "Jáchyme, hoď ho do stroje!"
